The Puglia San Giorgio Pausania Malvasia Nera Salento IGP is made from 100% Malvasia Nera grapes grown in selected vineyards in the Salento area. The grapes undergo a meticulous process of crushing, destemming, maceration, and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 22-26°C for 8/12 days, followed by gentle pressing. The resulting wine has an intense red color and aromas of red fruits with spicy notes and a toasty finish. The taste is full and harmonious with a long finale, making it a perfect pairing for red meats and aged cheeses. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18°C, and it has an alcohol content of 14%. The wine has a total acidity of 5.8 g/lt and residual sugar of 4.5 g/lt.
This wine has received several awards, including 92 points from Falstaff in 2021 for the vintage of 2019, a silver medal from the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2018 for the vintage of 2016, and 3 Grappoli from Bibenda in 2017 for the vintage of 2013.

The San Giorgio – Primitivo Salento Igp “Strabone” 2020 was awarded 91 points, characterized by its powerful and bright color, pronounced aroma of forest fruits, and elegant tannins.
