Wine description

The Barolo DOCG “Costareto” is undoubtedly the king of wines and the wine of kings, and is one of the most famous wines from Piemonte. Produced by the Barolo Aresca winery, this wine is made using a traditional process of long maceration and aging in large wooden vats. The result is a wine of rare elegance, with intense aromas and a firm structure.

The Barolo Costareto is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, grown on southern-facing slopes with calcareous clay soils. The manual harvesting and careful vinification at controlled temperatures contribute to the excellent quality of this wine. The intense red color with garnet reflections, combined with the fruity and spicy aromas make this wine perfect with game dishes and roasted meats. It is also an excellent choice as a meditation wine.

Barolo is one of the most prestigious wine regions in Italy, located in the hilly area of Langhe, in the southern part of Piemonte. Known as the “wine of kings, and the king of wines”, Barolo is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in a specific area of the region. The wine is aged for a minimum of three years, with at least two of those years in oak barrels, resulting in a complex and structured wine with notes of dark fruit, leather, and spice.

The history of Barolo dates back to the 19th century, when a nobleman named Camillo Benso di Cavour worked to improve the quality of the region’s wines. Today, Barolo is recognized as one of Italy’s greatest wines and has earned the prestigious DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) classification, which guarantees the wine’s quality and authenticity.

Visitors to the Barolo region can enjoy tours of the vineyards and wineries, as well as tastings of the region’s famous wines. The town of Barolo itself is also worth a visit, with its charming historic center and castle. For wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs, a visit to Barolo is a must to experience the rich history and taste the exceptional wines of this renowned region.
